There are no words to describe the recent trend of brutal attacks against our gay brothers and sisters. And in this case, the senseless violent killing of a man who was near my age. I don’t understand hate, it’s such a toxic condition. Just without words… Maybe just three: Learn to love.

This art is for the birds! A street artist by the name of Combo created an awesome open-air art exhibition specifically for pigeons. Not only are the pieces pigeon-sized and placed at the birds’ eye level, they’re each easily recognizable pieces of well-known art that have been altered to reflect a pigeon-centric world. The pigeon version of American Gothic is probably our favourite.

I have to trudge through the lonely.

I have to feel it.

Cry. Mourn. Let go. Feel more.

Let myself break a little bit.

Crack open so some seed, carried by an elephant or jungle ape or maybe just the goddamn wind, is left behind in my openness - in the cracked tree trunks and earthy dirt.

And with the rain, around April, will be a touch of green and then two sprouts and then, before you can muster the word beautiful or pull out your fucking iPhone to take a picture - there’s a petal.

There’s a beginning of something so not very her- and undoubtedly, wholly, fervently -

me.
